Investing in our facility in Fürth

25. January 2012

Last December the time had finally come. Following a series of extensive tests, two new croissant lines were commissioned. They have replaced the two rather old lines which had been running since the new premises opened in the year 2000.

Besides the latest technical innovations such as state-of-the-art refrigeration technology for deep-frozen goods and automatic final croissant positioning, we have invested in innovative moulding technology which, with the help of integrated cameras, checks the uniformity of the croissant bend and corrects it if necessary. A vacuum coiler wraps the pastry triangles more gently and ensures that the croissants do not straighten out during baking.

Despite all the technology, we still feel it is important to perform a final manual check. As a result, two production staff inspect the pastries to ensure they have the right shape and make corrections where required.

At the end of December we also moved into a new storehouse with additional offices. In the course of last year, the old frozen storage unit was dismantled and a new building erected in its place. The raw material store offers sufficient space for deep frozen, cooled and dry basic materials, which can now be channelled into the production process from a central location.

The company’s growth in recent years has led to the employment of numerous new office staff, chiefly in sales, quality management and controlling. The six new offices and an additional meeting room have thus provided much needed space to accommodate all our staff comfortably.
